Educational and entrepreneurial programmes in Zambia

Who are you trying to help? What issue are you trying to address?

Strategic Youth Organisation is seeking to help poor people, especially young people coming from highly poverty stricken homes.

It is discovered by our organisation that most of these people become unproductive in their communities because they lack standardized knowledge and can not compete with their counterparts who managed to go to colleges/universities.

We hope introducing this educational and entrepreneurial project will help many people, especially young people, to acquire skills which will enable them live a good life as well as contribute to Zambia’s National Income.

What is your project and how will it help?

Strategic Youth Organisation has the following programs to address: Education, Entrepreneurship, Human Rights, Civic Education, Agriculture and HIV Sensitization. In all these mention programs the Organisation has come up with projects. The objectives of the various projects are; imparting marketable skills to people, helping people to become employers and not employees (employment creation) enable people in our country to know their rights and freedoms and improve health standards of our people. In summary we aim to reduce poverty levels in the country Zambia.

Currently, we are working at introducing a nationally recognized professional accountancy program from the Zambia Institute of Chartered Accountant in Mkushi Central Zambia.

An other current project is to open up a Skills Training Center called Strategic Business Studies Initiative (SBSI). This initiative will provide a variety of both professional and technical courses which will be accessible by people of Mkushi and other surrounding areas at very affordable fees.

How can other people partner with you on your project?

Other people can partner with us in so many ways such as; supporting us with funds to build up our own infrastructure and buy material for the initiative, providing material support towards any of our activities in this initiative, and partners can help in other administrative works towards the initiative.

Any donor willing to help in our developmental programs is highly welcome.

Please detail the resources that you need.

Resources needed for this initiative are: USD 50,000, study materials and training orientation programs.
